Semester in AKITA
A small liberal arts college with a global orientation and courses taught in English, Akita International University offers St. Mary's students the opportunity to take courses in the Japan Studies Program or in a variety of disciplines.

St. Mary's in Alba
Students study with St. Mary's and Italian faculty to fulfill Core Curriculum requirements and SMCM electives while experiencing northern Italy's Piemonte region, known for its culinary and wine-making traditions. Participants study Italian language, plus three courses from two tracks of study.
- Music Track with courses in musicology, acting and diction for singers, chamber music, and private lessons, or
- Liberal Arts Track with a rotating set of academic offerings that reflect the expertise of participating SMCM and Italian faculty
The Italian class and music classes span the entire semester. The content courses in the Liberal Arts Track are conducted as three-week intensive courses or as courses that span the full semester. Each semester program has its own personality.
Alba Summer Music Festival
Students, professors, and professional musicians perform together in the international Alba Music Festival. Concerts are free and open to the public and feature soloists, orchestras, and musicians from all corners of the world. Learn more...
