Study Tours: Academic Courses Abroad with SMCM Faculty

Phase 1: Apply to the Program

The following forms are due to the Office of International Education by:
October 15 for spring semester study abroad
March 1 for fall semester study abroad

Signed Confirmation Email - (The Online Profile will send you an email that needs to be signed and returned to the Office of International Education)	German Language Registration form
Scholarship Application -- optional (Application is available as option in online forms once you've created your IE profile)	Arrival Information form

	Official passport photo
	Copy of personal information page with picture from your passport
	Nomination by e-mail from ILC faculty program adviser for Heidelberg to director of international education

Mandatory Pre-departure Meeting

Study-abroad students are required to attend two mandatory pre-departure meetings in the semester prior to study abroad.

For Summer 2012, Fall 2012, and Academic Year 2012-13 the pre-departure meetings are as follows:

Part I - Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 4:30-6:00pm

Part II - Program specific session - TBA

All sessions will be held in Cole Cinema and refreshments will be served.

Phase 2: Pre-Departure

The following forms are due to the Office of International Education by:
November 7 for spring semester study abroad
April 15 for fall semester study abroad

SMCM IE Office Required Forms Due Nov. 7 for spring semester Due April 15 for fall semester or academic year	Heidelberg Required Forms (your responsibility to submit as applicable upon acceptance and by date required by host institution)
Assumption of Risk and Release	Residency Permit
Check-Off Sheet	Instructions for Residency Permit
Online Registration with State Dept Instructions - Please bring a copy of your completed registration to the IE Office.	Other forms as required by Heidelberg
Participant Travel and Health Form
Preapproval of Transfer Credit Form
Online Profile (review, update as needed)
Students who wish to use their study abroad program to satisfy the ELAW requirement need to register for CORE 350
