Fees and Expenses
Students pay SMCM tuition and mandatory fee to SMCM. Housing and board are paid to Studentenwerk at University of Heidelberg upon arrival. The rent for a room in a student residence is between 170 euros and 250 euros per month.

Making Payments
Students who choose to study abroad with St. Mary's Exchange Semester at Heidelberg University will be billed for tuition and mandatory fee from the Business Office as part of the normal billing cycle. You will make payments directly to St. Mary's College of Maryland in the same way that you would if you were staying on campus.
SMCM Study Abroad Scholarships
St. Mary's offers scholarships for study abroad. There are two competitive application cycles each academic year, the first in the fall for winter break, spring break, or spring semester study abroad and the second in the spring for summer or fall semester study abroad.
Application deadlines are:
October 15 for winter break, spring break and spring semester study abroad
March 1 for summer or fall semester study
