Student Life
Living and Eating on Campus
There are numerous types of housing available, but past participants have found that most people are issued a single bedroom with one or more housemates. Various examples include:
- Single bedrooms with a closet, bed, desk, window, and sink; a big kitchen with small, lockable fridges is shared with everyone else on your floor; a common bathroom is also shared.
- Single apartment with two rooms; bed desk, kitchenette, closet, shelves, little bathroom
- Two-person apartment with furniture, bathroom, kitchen
- Four-person apartment with furniture, two bathrooms (one shower), kitchen
- Large dorm-type room with a sink; a shared kitchen and bathroom with hall mates.
Staying Fit
The university organizes a variety of sporting activities for students, such as aikido, rowing, fencing, European football, African dance and yoga and publishes information about them in the Vorlesungsverzeichnis and Sportprogramm. Learn more...
Student Activities
You'll have opportunities to pursue your interests in music, drama and the arts. The English department, for example, is always looking for native speakers who are interested in drama. You'll also have access to excursions and travel planned through the Auslandsamt.
Center for Information Technology
The Universitatsrechnungzentrum or URZ provides computer services and facilities for students in a several locations throughout the university.
