Study Tours: Academic Courses Abroad with SMCM Faculty

Phase 1: Apply to the Program

Students applying for study at Lingnan University must have sophomore-standing and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

The following forms are due to the Office of International Education by:
October 15 for spring semester study abroad
March 1 for fall semester study abroad

Signed Confirmation Email - (The Online Profile will send you an email that needs to be signed and returned to the Office of International Education)	Visa application form to be submitted with application: http://www.immd.gov.hk/pdforms/ID995A.pdf
Scholarship Application -- optional (Application is available as option in online forms once you've created your IE profile)	Official Transcript--IE Office will request for you
	Two (2) official, passport photos
	Copy of personal information page with picture from your passport
	Payment for visa made with application (payment by credit card recommended, credit card submission details)

Mandatory Pre-departure Meeting

Study-abroad students are required to attend two mandatory pre-departure meetings in the semester prior to study abroad.

For Summer 2012, Fall 2012, and Academic Year 2012-13 the pre-departure meetings are as follows:

Part I - Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 4:30-6:00pm

Part II - Program specific session - TBA

All sessions will be held in Cole Cinema and refreshments will be served.

Phase 2: Pre-Departure

The following forms are due to the Office of International Education by:
November 7 for spring semester study abroad
April 15 for fall semester study abroad

SMCM IE Office Required Forms Due Nov. 7 for spring semester Due April 15 for fall semester or academic year	Lingnan University Required Forms (your responsibility to submit to Lingnan upon acceptance and by date required by host institution)
Assumption of Risk and Release Check-Off Sheet	One (1) official passport photo with background in blue for your Student ID Card (digital copy only)
Online Registration with State Dept Instructions - Please bring a copy of your completed registration to the IE Office.	Mailing address (Lingnan will send visa by courier)
Participant Travel and Health Form	Flight schedule
Preapproval of Transfer Credit Form	Other forms as required by Lingnan
Online Profile (review, update as needed)
Students who wish to use their study abroad program to satisfy the ELAW requirement need to register for CORE 350
