Why Hong Kong?
In the words of SMCM student Laura Cooper
Why did you choose to study at Lingnan University?
I always wanted to study abroad in Southeast Asia and lear more about international affairs and Chinese history. Lingnan seemed like a great place to do it.
What did you experience there that you might not experience elsewhere?
I was able to learn more about international affiars froma cross-cultural perspective, giving me access to different viewpoints and world views It was interesting to see a place that combines both "east" and "west," as well as a place that was very urbanized in most areas, yet rural in others. Also, I was able to travel in the region pretty easily (to Mainland China and Thailand), which was a ton of fun.
Why should other students study abroad?
Studying abroad gives students the ability to experience a variety of cultures and learn new things. It will help you expand your horizons and expeirence things you'd never experience back in the United States.
Why should other students choose Lingnan University and study in Hong Kong?
You'll meet people from all over the world and learn so much in and out of the classroom! Lingnan allows you a great deal of freedom to explore on your own while also providing local excursions and support.
