How To Apply

Phase 1: Apply to the Program

The following forms are due to the Office of International Education by:
October 15 for spring semester study abroad
March 1 for fall semester study abroad

Online Profile*

Online application for internship track, print for IE Office

Online application for field course in resource management track, print for IE Office

Signed Confirmation Email - (The Online Profile will send you an email that needs to be signed and returned to the Office of International Education)

Official Transcript--IE Office will request for you 

Scholarship Application -- optional
(Application is available as option in online forms once you've created your IE profile)

Mandatory Pre-departure Meeting

Study-abroad students are required to attend two mandatory pre-departure meetings in the semester prior to study abroad.

For Spring 2012 the pre-departure meetings are as follows:

Part I - Nov. 1st at either 8:30am or 10:30am (students are required to attend only one of the Part I sessions)

Part II - Nov. 8th at 2:45pm or Nov. 9th at 4:15pm (students are required to attend only one of the Part II sessions)

All sessions will be held in Cole Cinema and refreshments will be served.

Phase 2: Pre-Departure

The following forms are due to the Office of International Education by:
November 7 for spring semester study abroad
April 15 for fall semester study abroad

Due Nov. 7 for spring semester
Due April 15 for fall semester or academic year

ICADS Required Forms
(your responsibility to obtain from and submit
to ICADS or embassy
as applicable upon acceptance and by date required by host institution)

Assumption of Risk and Release

ICADS Policy form, signed and dated

Participation Confirmation form
SMCM students are waived from the deposit requirement.

Online Registration with State Dept
Instructions - Please bring a copy of your completed registration form to the IE Office.

A brief letter describing your preferences for living with a family

Online Participant Travel and Health Form - Please bring a printed copy of this form to the IE Office.  This form allows us to assist with any accommodations that may need to be made and better prepare you for life abroad.

Students who wish to use their study abroad program to satisfy the ELAW requirement need to register for CORE 350
