Returning Home
It's always hard to say goodbye and it's a rush at the end of the semester to prepare to return home. To assist returning students in their preparation to take care of College business, the Office of International Education hosts a end-of-exchange pre-departure meeting. This meeting is scheduled for the first week in December during the fall semester and at the end of April in the spring semester.
Students will be given an exit packet with check-out forms that guide them through the check-out procedures for such offices as Residence Life, Student Activities, the Registrar, Business Office, Alumni, and International Education.
Evaluation Forms
We ask visiting exchange students to complete an evaluation form about their experiences at St. Mary's. Please submit your completed evaluation form to the Office of International Education at ie@smcm.edu or in hard copy to Office of International Education, Glendening Hall, 18952 E. Fisher Rd., St. Mary's City, MD 20686.
Requesting Transcripts
During the exit meeting, we also advise returning students about how to get a record of their academic work while here at St. Mary's -- a transcript -- and will prompt them to complete the request prior to departure. The Office of the Registrar is responsible for all student transcripts. Once you depart campus, you must request future official transcripts in writing. For more information about how to request a transcript, visit the web site of the Registrar.

These range from taking last minute photos and getting addresses of overseas friends and program classmates to being sure to say your goodbyes in a culturally appropriate manner. Read more...
