WHERE DO YOU WANT TO GO?
...and to help you defray the cost of getting there, SMCM is offering stipends to students studying abroad with SMCM signature programs in Spring '12. The stipend is $500 for the Argentina and Alba programs; $1,200 for The Gambia and Thailand programs. To quality, you must meet the application deadlines and participate in a mandatory pre-departure session.
St. Mary's is committed to supporting you in developing knowledge, skills, and attitudes that deepen your global awareness and engagement. Study abroad is one way that you can satisfy Experiencing the Liberal Arts in the World of the Core Curriculum -- a requirement that fosters reflection and the opportunity to apply your ideas and knowledge outside the classroom.
St. Mary's SIGNATURE SEMESTERS ABROAD in Argentina (Buenos Aires), The Gambia (Kanifing), Italy (Alba), and Thailand (Chiang Mai) carry our honors college traditions abroad by offering academic courses with St. Mary's or hand-selected international faculty at our own or partner residential sites with orientation programs and excursions designed specifically for you. Since these are St. Mary's programs, courses and experiences can often be tailored to meet individual student needs.
You can make progress toward your Core Curriculum or major requirements all for the same cost as studying and living on campus.
We also offer EXCHANGE SEMESTERS ABROAD with partners in Australia, China, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India and Japan, as well as short, focused courses abroad -- STUDY TOURS -- taught by St. Mary's professors.
There's a world of options...WHEN WILL YOUR ADVENTURE BEGIN?
