St. Mary's in The Gambia, West Africa combine integrated coursework with the University of The Gambia, with study of the Wolof language and Gambian society, and opportunities for service-learning and individualized research projects.

Scholarships
Sources of financial assistance are available in hard copy or on the web. One source is the book Financial Resources for International Study: A Guide for U.S. Students and Professionals (published by the Institute of International Education). This book is available for use in the Office of International Education. The Web sites listed below may also be helpful in researching scholarships and applying for additional financial aid.
St. Mary's College of Maryland Study Abroad Scholarships
St. Mary's offers scholarships for study abroad. There are two competitive application cycles each academic year, the first in the fall for winter break, spring break, or spring semester study abroad and the second in the spring for summer or fall semester study abroad.
Application deadlines are:
October 15 for winter break, spring break and spring semester study abroad
March 1 for summer or fall semester study
