In the Event of an Urgent Matter or Emergency
The Office of International Education is staffed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern standard time and can be reach at 1-240-895-4202.
In the event of an emergency outside of these regular business hours, please contact SMCM's Public Safety 24/7 at 1-240-895-4911.
If a student is overseas and is involved in an emergency situation, the student should contact a local emergency responder or their in-country resident coordinator immediately. Contact information for local emergency responders and in-country coordinators is provided on their wallet-sized Emergency Contact Card.
If a student is unable to do so, please contact Public Safety at 1-240-895-4911. Public Safety has emergency contact information for each of our overseas program coordinators and St. Mary's College of Maryland has emergency procedures in place as part of its International Education Emergency Action Plan.
