How to Apply to SMCM Study Tours

Study tour participants will submit forms in two phases: application and pre-departure.

Phase 1: Apply to the Program

The following forms are due to the Office of International Education by:
October 15 for winter break, spring break, or spring semester study abroad
March 1 for summer study abroad

Summer 2012 Study Tours

Please see the program pages for specific materials to turn in for that program.
Signed Confirmation Email - (The Online Profile will send you an email that needs to be signed and returned to the Office of International Education)
Scholarship application -- optional
(Application is available as option in online forms once you've created your IE profile)
Copy of the photo page of your passport

Additional forms may be required depending on student status and current academic policies.

Mandatory Pre-departure Meetings

Study-abroad students are required to attend two mandatory pre-departure meetings in the semester prior to study abroad.

For Summer 2012 Study Tours the mandatory pre-departures are:

Part I - Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 4:30-6:00pm

Part II - Meetings will be held with each of your tour leaders throughout the spring semester.  Please check with your individual tour leader for more information.

All will be held in Cole Cinema, unless otherwise noted, and light refreshments will be served.


Phase 2: Pre-departure

The following forms are due to the Office of International Education by:
November 7 for winter break, spring break, or spring semester study abroad
April 15 for summer study abroad

Assumption of Risk and Release

Provide your study tour leader with a copy of the personal information page (page with your picture) from your passport

Study tour leaders may require additional pre-departure forms or materials from you

MAT Teacher Interns

Proof of Online Registration
with the State Department - Please bring a copy of your completed registration to the IE Office.
Participant Travel and Health Form
Online Profile (review, update as needed)
Students who wish to use their study abroad program to satisfy the ELAW requirement need to register for CORE350
