Apporto Virtual Computer Labs
The SMCM Virtual Computer lab gives users access to a virtual computer from most internet connected devices. Users can connect using Windows, Mac or Linux PC’s. Users can also connect using Chromebooks, Android based tablets and iPads. Users can also use their smartphones to access the virtual computers, however, viewing and using all of the features may be difficult since these are desktop applications intended to be used on a normal sized screen.Access the Virtual Computer Lab @ https://smcm.apporto.com
Users will be able to access the following Academic software when using the virtual lab:
- Microsoft Office 365
The first time you start an Office product you will be asked to sign in. Sign in with your full firstname.lastname@example.org and your current password.
- Adobe Acrobat Reader DC
- ArcGiS 10.6
- R and Rstudio
- IBM SPSS 25
- LoggerPro 3.15
- Mathematica 11.3
- MatLab 2018A
- Google Chrome
Your instructor may use Blackboard Collaborate for online classes. If so, prepare yourself by watching these video tours.
All faculty have Organizer accounts in GoToMeeting. You do not need an Organizer account to attend a meeting, only to schedule, start, and run meetings. You can log into GoToMeeting with your SMCM credentials. If this is your first time using GoToMeeting, check the compatibility of your technology well ahead of time using GoToMeeting’s Get Ready page!

Zoom Video Conferencing
You can access Blackboard and other tools you may need to stay connected using most web-enabled devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Most of the tools are browser-based, so all you will need is your device and an Internet connection.
The Library, Archives, and Media Center currently has twenty Chromebooks available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The loan period will be extended past April 4th. All the Chromebooks have the standard Google for Education apps. Chromebooks will be available at the Library Circulation Desk during our operating hours of 8-5, Mon-Fri.
