Film Rentals

All Films must be ordered by Library Aquisitions

  1. Choose your film/films. The Media Center has catalogues of available films and their costs. If you need help to locate a particular film, Media staff will help with this process. Also take a look at our Help Links for online sources
  2. Complete a requisition and forward it to Curt Barclift (Library Aquisitions) at least 2-4 weeks in advance of the show date. Include the following:
    Account title to be charged.
    Budget manager's signature.
    Date.
Account number to be charged and amount.
Title and format of film/video: (Library 321 has the capability of showing 16mm film, VHS Video, Laser Disk, and DVD).
Name, address, and phone number of the vendor.
Show date and alternate show date.
    Name of individual ordering film.
    Cost.
  3. Once Library Aquisitions receives the requisition and places the order, a copy of the requisition and purchase order will be returned to your department bookkeeper or secretary.
  4. Films not being shown in the Media Center will be delivered to your Division Office upon arrival and must be returned to the Division Office by the return date on the film. Do not put films in campus mail The renter is responsible for any fees incurred from late returns.
Things to remember:
If you are showing the film in Library 321, you must schedule the room when you order the film. Room bookings are taken on a first-come, first-served basis, and there is usually a great demand for the room on weekday evenings. You can schedule 321 by calling x4269 (or through Student Development for events after 8:00 p.m. or weekends) or by using the online room reservation form. Some companies will not process film rental requests less than three weeks in advance of the showing date. If you are paying for Public Performance Rights as part of the film price, the order needs to be confirmed before the film is advertised on or off campus. You cannot show any film in a public forum or advertise any film on or off campus without first obtaining Public Performance Rights to the film. This includes films in the Library collection. If you have any questions, please contact the Media Center at x4269
