Residing at the Artist House
Catherine O’Connell is a visual artist working in painting, drawing and sculptural installation in Baltimore, MD. She earned her MFA in Interdisciplinary Studio Art and the Certificate in College Teaching of Art from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Catherine attended Pennsylvania State University where she earned her BFA in Painting and Drawing and was awarded the Margaret Giffen Schoenfelder Award for excellence in painting. She spent a semester studying in Italy with the Temple University Art and Architecture Program in Rome.
Her work has been exhibited in Baltimore, Rome and throughout Pennsylvania. O’Connell is represented by LGTripp Gallery in Philadelphia where she exhibited a new body of paintings in a two person show last fall. Catherine has served as a visiting artist and critic at Towson University and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at MICA in Drawing, Sculptural Forms, and Survey of Contemporary Design and Theory. She is part of an artist work space in Baltimore called Area 405.
