Alumni Weekend 2010 through the eyes of the Class of 2025!
Building a sand castle at the waterfront: Jillian Chiappelli, 4, daughter of Jessica Geoghegan Chiappelli ’00 and Jeremiah Chiappelli ’00; Sarah Yamakawa, 3, daughter of Lisa Dalsimer Yamakawa ’99 and James Yamakawa ’02; and William Jauquet, 4, son of Heather Martin Jauquet ’00 and Will Jauquet ’00. Along with building sandcastles, the children enjoyed discovering where mommy and daddy met, catching fireflies, and staying up late in the common room just like their parents used to do.
Another group of seventeen children and their parents (twelve of whom met at St. Mary’s) got to stay in the same quad and went for sailboat rides and played soccer until the rainstorms rolled in. The families are: the Mohr Family, Terry Boyd Mohr ’97, Dave Mohr ’97, and their twin two year old daughters, Molly and Kiera; the Koontz Family, Adam Koontz ’97, Danielle Winner Koontz ’97 and their children Sophia, 7, and Cora, 5; the Symes Family, Dean Symes ’97, Meha Desai Symes ’97 and their children, Ashna, 4, and Amira, 2; the Orozco-Hammond Family, Elaine Orozco-Hammond ’97, Chris Orozco-Hammond ’96 and their children, Colby, 7, Viviana, 6, and Kaden, 2; the Schwedler Family, Jon Schwedler ’95, Jen Green Schwedler ’96, and their two sons, ages 4 and 2; the Maciorowski Family, Dave Maciorowski ’96, Kris Maciorowski, and their children, Mary, 7, and Alina, 5; and last but not least, the Swartz Family, Joe Swartz ’98, Heather White Swartz, and their children, twins, Hayden and Rock, 10, Eva, 8, and Calib 8 months.

“The aim is to keep everyone coming back when they leave.” -President Urgo
The Rectory across from Calvert Hall was renovated last summer to provide new meeting areas for visiting alumni. “It is now a base from which alums can do what they need, and look up other alums as well,” says President Urgo. “They may come back for homecoming, vacations on the waterfront, or simply to show their children where they went to college.” So, the next time you make your way back to St. Mary’s, be sure to stop by.
