Sotterley Plantation: Sotterley is seeking part-time seasonal help between May 1 - October 31 for those willing to cross-train to become Interpreters (docents) and Visitor Center/Museum Shop workers.  Be the first face of Sotterley for our visitors and guests! Pay is $9/hour, with flexible hours but primarily times needed will be on weekends.  Contact the Sotterley office at officemanager@sotterley.org or 301-373-2280.

Zekiah Archaeological Project, Department of Anthropology, St. Mary's College of Maryland: Join student archaeologists in the search for archaeological sites in the Zekiah drainage, including the site of the lost 17th-century Piscataway Indian fort.  Schedule: May 19-June 30, 2010; $10.00 per hour; limited housing available at no charge.  For more information or to apply, send a cover letter, resume, and names of three references to Julia A. Sotterley Plantation: Transcribers are needed to transcribe oral history narratives.  Sotterley will pay up to $150 per one-hour interview transcription.  Students are especially encouraged to apply.  Contact David Brown at davidanderna@aol.com.

Maryland State Archives, Summer Internship: Archival Management, Electronic Archives, & Historical Research: High school, undergraduate or graduate level college students attending Maryland schools or Maryland residents attending out-of-state schools are eligible to apply.  During the ten-week paid summer program, interns engage in a variety of activities related to processing, managing, and interpreting archival collections. Interns will receive an hourly wage, paid bi-weekly.  Hourly rates are based on education level:  high school at $8.70 per hour, undergraduate at $10.63 per hour, and graduate at $11.25 per hour.
