Study Math & Science at SMCM!
Scholarships of $5,000 to $10,000 will be awarded to 10 financially needy incoming students who intend to major in one of the science & math fields at St. Mary’s.
In addition to the financial support, SMCM STEM Navigators will:
- be matched with a mentor professor (and academic advisor) in their chosen field.
- go on field trips with other Navigators.
- participate in the Emerging Scholars Program (ESP) in their chosen field.
- attend enrichment workshops on summer research opportunities and graduate school.
Scholarships will be given to students in two cohorts:
- incoming first-year students (attending college for the first time)
- transfer students from community colleges (with two years remaining)
Scholarships are renewable provided Navigators:
- maintain good academic standing in a STEM major at SMCM
- maintain a 3.0 GPA
- participate in Navigator events
- participate in an ESP
