Alumni Highlight

Dr. Erin Johnson '02 recently received her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Rochester School of Medicine, and was inducted as an alumni member of Nu Rho Psi.
SMP Spotlight

Ron Saul, "Chronic activation of the substantia nigra nociceptin/orphanin receptor induces motor deficits similar to Parkinson's disease," 2008. Saul, the 2008 winner of the Neuroscience Award, infused a drug into the substantia nigra of rats and measured the resulting motor behaviors, mood disturbances, and cognitive abilities.

Angy Kallarackal presented a poster describing her SMP research (co-authored by Aileen Bailey). Angy is currently a graduate student at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
Gwen Calhoon presented a poster describing her SMP research (co-authored by Anne Marie Brady). Gwen won a Faculty for Undergraduate Neuroscience travel award to attend the meeting and present this research.
Ron Saul and Cassie Ruiz presented a poster at the Faculty for Undergraduate Neuroscience poster session describing their summer research with Anne Marie Brady. Both Ron’s and Cassie’s trips were supported by summer fellowships.
Ron Saul and Matt Wiest presented a poster describing their neuroscience research conducted with Anne Marie Brady. Matt won a travel award from the Council on Undergraduate Research to attend the meeting and present this research.
