(St. Mary's City, MD) April 5, 2007 - St. Mary's College of Maryland (SMCM) has room in its summer school for you. The College has about 50 courses planned including many foreign language courses, a learn-to sail program for adults, and a unique photography trip to Italy. Courses begin in mid-May and include college credit. (Wolof is offered for students in the study-abroad program with the University of The Gambia.)

A unique travel study course is being offered for the firsttime. The Photographic Learning Vacation in Northern Italy is a ten-day trip centered around the rich and sensuous Piedmont region of Italy, where the College's Alba Music Festival performers visit. The trip starts in Alba but makes day-trips to outlying areas, including a two-day exploration of nearby Venice. For more information, consult the itinerary at http://www.smcm.edu/continuinged/Summer2007/pdfs/Italyphoto.pdf, or contact the Office of Lifelong Learning and Professional Programs at (240) 895-2200.

Adults who want to learn to sail from the best, can sign up an intensive two-week course in basic sailing during the sunset hours in late May.
