St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s Jazz Combo and Big Band will salute the golden age of big bands with a concert featuring the music of Duke Ellington, Stan Kenton, and Glen Miller starting at 8 p.m. Friday, March 4, in Auerbach Auditorium at St. Mary’s Hall. Guest vocalist and local favorite Sandy Mahoney will be featured with the Combo and the talented Carmen Fuentes will sing with the Big Band, led by conductor by Don Stapleson. The event is free and open to the public.
St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
