The documentary “Green Wave,” to be shown at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at Cole Cinema in the Campus Center at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, tells the story of the 2009 Green Revolution in Iran from the people’s point of view through Facebook reports, Twitter messages, blogs, and Internet videos. The color green became a symbol of recognition among supporters of Iranian presidential candidate Mir-Hossein Mousavi, who became the symbolic figure of the revolution. The film will be hosted by documentary filmmaker Sherry Jones.
St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
