Pianist Brian Ganz, of St. Mary’s College of Maryland, will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 5, in Auerbach Auditorium of St. Mary’s Hall. He will play Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" and Frédéric Chopin's "Scherzo No. 2." He will also be taking Chopin requests.
Ganz is widely regarded as one of the leading pianists of his generation. In January, he began the ambitious endeavor of performing all of the approximately 250 works of Chopin over the course of a decade.
