Press Release #12-146
On Tuesday, Nov. 27, Pianist Brian Ganz, St. Mary's College musician-in-residence, resumes his popular "Piano Talk" series, in which he explores a topic of interest in a way accessible to the musically trained and untrained alike. The event will be held in the Auerbach Auditorium of St. Mary's Hall, starting at 8 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
The theme of this talk is "Small and Infinite: The Power of the Miniature." Ganz will play and discuss excerpts from one of Chopin's greatest masterpieces, the “24 Preludes, Op. 28,” as well as the lesser known but charming “3 Ecossaises, Op. 72, No. 3.”
