Selection Procedures

The Office of Admissions will screen all applications for students with outstanding academic records. The strongest applications will be forwarded to the Director of the Scholars Program to be studied by members of the Scholars Committee. Outstanding students who also have a strong and integrated record of leadership and service will be invited by the Director of the Program to express their interest in joining the Nitze Scholars Program. Before these students have to make their final decision about joining the Program, they will be invited to the campus to meet other prospective scholars and to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of participating in the Program with administrators, faculty members of the Scholars Committee and students presently enrolled in the Program.

The selection process will begin in early February. Students accepted into the program will receive a scholarship of $3000 during each year of study in the program. They will also participate in an international study-tour sponsored by the College.
