Mario Livio, Astronomer and Head of the Science Division Space Telescope Science Institute

Dr. Livio joined the Space Telescope Science Institute in 1991 after serving as a Professor of Physics at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. His professional publications include more than 300 scientific papers, several popular articles, and a recent book titled, "The Accelerating Universe," which explores the beauty of fundamental universe theories. Dr. Livio has given public seminars at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D. C.; the Library of Congress; the Hayden Planetarium in New York; the Johnson Space Center; the Adler Planetarium in Chicago; the Institute of Astrophysics in Munich, Germany; and many more.
