Mac Pay-For-Print Instructions
In the Mac environment, your account will be charged using a Pay-for-Print Pay
Station. If you get a “patron denied” error or have trouble sending the print job(s) to the printer, please forward your id number and a brief description of
the problem to the Student Help Desk at
studenthelpdesk@smcm.edu or X: 2357. You
can also forward them to the One Card Office at
onecard@smcm.edu or X: 4469.
1. Prior to printing your job, it is recommended that you name the document to
help identify your print job. After naming your document go ahead and print as
you normally would. (See Figure 1)
- Fig. 1 -

2. After you choose to the document you will have to physically go to the
Pay-for-Print Pay Station. The Pay Station is located in the lab and is a
Windows based PC. Once you are at the Pay Station you will see a screen that
looks like Figure 2 and 3 with your document waiting in the queue. (See Figure 2
and 3)
- Fig. 2 -

- Fig. 3 -

3. You will then click on the document that has your network login tied to it as
well as the document name you gave it. Once it is highlighted, click
in the
bottom left hand corner of the screen. A new window will pop up asking you to
swipe your card, showing how many pages are to be printed and the amount you
will be charged. (See Figure 4)
- Fig. 4 -

4. Finally, swipe your card to print the document.
Note: The screen shots in these instructions were taken from a color printer.
The cost for printing from a black and white printer is $0.10 a page and the
cost for printing from a color printer, whether you are printing color or black
and white, is $0.25.
