The goal of this journal was to create a new space for students to explore the issues that matter to them, unbound by convention and dogma. The first issue of Open Water established that space, but only began to define it.

This publication is left to future generations of students to share their insight and concern over social and political issues. It should continue to grow and evolve, an ever-changing reflection of new ideas.
