WELCOME BACK!
Dear Political
Science Students,
As Chair of the Political
Science Department, I’d like to welcome you back to campus. This coming year
promises to be an exciting one for the Department. We have a few changes this
year. Prof. Michael Cain is back from sabbatical, while Prof. Walter Hill will
be on leave in Fall 2011. We also welcome Prof. Diana Boros as our new
permanent political theorist (many of you already know Prof. Boros well since
she was with us in a temporary position last year). We also welcome Prof. Shan
Sappleton, our Visiting Assistant Professor for 2011-2012, who will be teaching
in the areas of American Politics and Comparative Politics.
All of us in the Department
are excited about another fantastic year ahead of us. We are planning a number
of events as well, which you will hear more about later. We are also excited
for the plans that the new board of Pi Sigma Alpha (the Political Science
honors society) has for the coming year.
I will be sending all of
you Political Science-related information periodically (including information
on internships). I wish all of you a happy and productive year ahead. In the
