By the end of the 4th week of the semester, a proposal detailing how the scholarly paper in the above courses will meet the objectives of the diversity requirement is required. Both the faculty supervisor and the Diversity Committee will evaluate this proposal.
The scholarly paper must be 12 to 20 pages, include at least 8 scholarly sources (e.g., journal articles, primary source books), and is due by the last day of classes. The diversity committee will evaluate the paper to determine if the objectives of the diversity requirement were achieved. Papers that fail to satisfy the diversity requirement can be revised and re-evaluated if done so prior to the end of the Incomplete period of the following semester. Graduating seniors are encouraged to turn in their paper several weeks prior to this deadline to allow for revision and resubmission in the event that the paper fails to satisfy the requirement.
