Rob Blackwell was a research assistant at University of Maryland School of Medicine in FA09 & SP10. He is now a pilot for the United States Navy.

Jill Bradley earned a MSW (Management and Community Organization) from University of Maryland School of Social Work in 2014.

Katie Cain earned a MPH from Hunter College in 2013. She is now a Program Specialist for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Jacqueline Caminiti is an Executive Assistant at Northwestern Mutual.

Jessica Clark earned a MAT at SMCM in 2010. She is a 1st grade teacher for Wicomico County Public Schools.

Maya Cosentino is pursuing a MD from Universitat Witten/Herdecke (Uni WH) in Germany.

Erika Delanoy earned a MSW at The University of Texas at Austin in 2011. She interned in Hospice/Palliative Care at the Department of Veteran Affairs for 5 months and is now currently a social worker for Family Preservation Services in Charlottesville, VA.

Heather DeMarr studied Applied Behavior Analysis at the Florida Institute of Technology. She is a Behavior Specialist at Personalized Therapy, LLC.

Justin Eid earned a MHA (Mentoring Human Action) Certification and is now a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Counselor and Specialist (specializing in those with severe DSM: Axis I mental illnesses) with Key Point Health Services.

Valerie Freund was a Psychometrics Intern at Discovery Education. She is now pursing a MS in Quantitative Psychology at Middle Tennessee State University.

Hannah Fegley earned a MSW from Smith College School for Social Work in 2013. She is a Psychotherapist for a Non Profit Hospital System. Hannah says,

"Smith College's MSW program is a unique, clinically-focused, block schedule program. Students take all of their academic classes over 3 summers (22 credits/summer) and then spend 8 months at a field site (30 hours/week). I just finished my first summer and am currently a social work intern at Sheppard Pratt's Mann Residential Treatment Center, providing individual, family and group therapy. Tashia Graham is a Human Resources Associate for Fenway Community Health in Boston, MA.

Elli Gutowski spent 4 years as a Community Health Agent for HIV/AIDS with the Peace Corps and served in the Southeastern African country of Malawi. She is currently a  Laboratory Manager at Boston University.

Makeyda Hilliard earned a MS in School Counseling at Trinity Washington University in 2012. She is a high school counselor in Montgomery County.

Katie Klotz is an Orthopedic Technician for the Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center in Annapolis, Md.

Kayla Mangen earned a MS in Counseling at the School of Education of Johns Hopkins University in 2012. She works part-time at a substance abuse clinic in Baltimore County.

Christa McAllister is pursuing a MEd in Counseling from Loyola College of Maryland.  She expects to complete her studies in 2015.

Briana Nehez earned a BSN from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2013 and is currently a Graduate Nurse at Baylor All Saints Medical Center.

Jennifer "Niki" Novak earned a MS in Clinical and Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Chestnut Hill College in 2011. She is currently a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at DC Counseling and Psychotherapy and Director of Training and Quality Improvement at Pathways to Housing DC.

Marie Oben earned a MS in Kinesiology (Cognitive Motor Neuroscience) at UMCP in 2011. She is currently an Orthopaedic Technician.

Samantha (Ortiz) Salerno earned a MSW (Clinical Mental Health) from Univeristy of MD - School of Social Work in 2011. She is an Inpatient Social Worker for Sheppard Pratt Health System.

Lauren Payne is a Graduate Teaching Assistant at University of North Dakota. She is an instructor of success courses through the Student Success Center. 

Evan Polisar is a Press Secretary/Legislative Assistant for the Office of Congressman Alcee L. Hastings.

Jori Sapper earned a MAT from SMCM in 2010. She is currently a 2nd grade teacher at The Westminster School.

Emily (Smithson) Moore earned a MA and EdS in School Psychology from James Madison University in 2012.

Marian Stukes earned a MS in Clinical Counseling at Johns Hopkins University in 2012. She is currently a therapist at the Mental Health Center.

Gina (White) Sheets is a Clinical Assistant II at Kennedy Krieger Institute.

Josh Whitt is currently a graduate research assistant at University of Maryland, Baltimore, where he is pursuing a PhD in Neuroscience.

Tori Whitlow earned a MD at University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2013. She is a General Surgery Resident at VCU Medical Center.

Esther Adetunji earned a JD at Boston College Law School in 2011. She worked as a legal intern in Pretoria North, Gauteng, South Africa for the Refugee and Migrant Worker  Rights Programme of Lawyers for Human Rights for 5 months. She is currently a staff attorney for Bread for the City in Southeast, DC.

April Corrice is a Research Analyst for Organizational and Management Studies in the Office of the Executive Vice President of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) in Washington, D.C.

Amanda Collins worked at NIDA (National Institute on Drug Abuse)/ NIH. She is currently employed at Westat.

Jenalee Coster earned a MD from University of Maryland at Baltimore in 2012. She is now a Resident Surgeon at Loma Linda University Medical Center.

Madeline (Eberhardt) Fafoutis earned a MAT from SMCM in 2009 and is currently a third grade teacher for Baltimore County Public Schools.

Daniel Hawkins works for Tox Path Specialists.

Justine (Hoewing) Ahearn earned a MAT in Early Childhood Education from SMC in 2010 and is now a lead Pre-K teacher for Montgomery County Public Schools.

Christopher Hughes spent a year as a Professional Psychology Trainee for the Devereux Foundation in PA following his graduation from SMC. He completed his EdS in Child, Family & School Psychology at Denver University in 2013 and is now a School Psychologist at Douglas County School District in CO.

Christopher Kauffman has worked at Pathways, Inc. and Weidiko. He earned a MSW at UCLA in 2012 and is now a Social Worker at Solano County H&SS.

Shannon Kummer is a Research Associate at United Biosource Corporation (UBC). In her position there, Shannon does qualitative research with patients in a variety of disease areas. She conducts focus groups and interviews with patients, manages logistic and financial aspects of projects, analyzes qualitative data, writes proposals, protocols and reports, and works directly with pharmaceutical and government clients. She has been with UBC for over 3 years and loves it.

Vanessa Medley earned a MS in School Psychology at UMCP in 2014. She is now a Professional School Counselor for Prince George's County Public Schools.

Caitlin Moore is pursuing graduate studies at Studies at The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

Ben Patterson earned a MPP at UMCP in 2012.

Sara Rubinstein earned a MA in Dance/Movement Therapy from Drexel University in 2010. She is currently a Fun Time Volunteer at The Children's Inn at NIH. As of Aug 2013, she will be a 2013-2014 Israel Service Fellow with Ma'ase Olam.

Brendan Spealman is a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps and serves as a Combat Engineer Platoon Commander.

Kaitlin Taylor earned a MS from Simmons College in 2011 and currently works for Newton Public Schools in Massachusetts.

Theresa (Tenaglia) Toll is currently a Management Analyst/Attorney Recruitment Coordinator for the Department of Justice, Civil Division.

Brittanny (Wilson) Petrzala is pursuing a MS in Marriage and Family Counseling via Liberty University Online.

Paula (Zweimiller) Causey earned a MAT from SMCM in June 2009 and is now a 4th grade teacher for SMCPS at Town Creek Elementary.

Amanda Ballute is an Account Executive for The Richmond Group USA.

Andrea Bancells earned an MS in Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in 2010. She was a Teaching Assistant at Kennedy Krieger Institute for 4 years and is now a teacher at New Hope Academy Charter School.

Colin Black completed graduate studies at Loyola University. He is high school counselor for the Montgomery County Public Schools System.

Kerry Buechler earned a MS in Special Education from Johns Hopkins University in 2012. She was a service coordinator at Kennedy Krieger Institute and is now employed by Howard County Public Schools.

Jennifer (Connolly) Sevier earned a MS in Counseling Psychology at Loyola University of MD in 2009. Since then she has served in a variety of positions, including as an intern for The House of Ruth Maryland, as a Mental Health Worker for the Trauma Disorders Unit of Sheppard Pratt Health Systems and as a Psychology Associate for the Correctional Mental Health Center in Jessup, MD. She is currently a Mental Health Professional (LCPC) at Baltimore County Corrections.

Megan Farley earned a MSW at Boston College in 2009. She is currently a social worker for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs at at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center.

Ranwa Hammamy earned a MPH in Community Health Education at UMCP in 2010. In 2012, she began studies at the Union Theological Seminary and hopes to earn her Master of Divinity in 2015. 

Jessica Hoehn is a Psychology Testing Technician at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

Ayse Ikizler-Rickard worked as a research associate for American Institutes for Research in Washington, D.C. for three years following graduation. She is currently a College Instructor at University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she is pursuing a PhD in Counseling Psychology. She expects to complete her studies in 2016.

Hillary Leech earned a MEd in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Virginia in 2012 and is completing coursework for a certificate in certificate in culturally proficient teaching from McDaniel College. She is a Speech Language Pathologist for Carroll County Public Schools.

Hannah (Lichtenstein) Graves has been working at Brown University's Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies since 2008 and is currently a Project Manager.  She earned a ScM in Behavioral and Social Sciences Interventions (BSSI) from Brown University in 2014.

Joshua Lubben earned a MS from UMBC in 2014. He is an External Communications Coordinator at University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Michelle (Mason) Malone earned a MAT from SMCM in 2008. She currently works for St. Mary's County Public Schools.

Jackie McGill earned a MD from Wake Forest University School of Medicine in 2011. She is currently a Family Medicine Resident for Moses Cone Health System in NC.

Cassie Ruiz is a Technical Trainer for Charles River.

Jeanne Sutton earned a MS in Counseling at Loyola University of Maryland in 2007 and a second Master's in Integrative Counseling Psychology at California Institute of Integral Studies in 2010. She is currently a Recovery Management Program Supervisor, MFTI at Women's Recovery Association in San Francisco, CA.

Caitlin Gore Ward earned a BSN from Johns Hopkins University in 2012. She works at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and Massachusetts General Hospital.

Brittney Zakielarz earned a MS in School Psychology from Towson University in 2012. She is currently a School Psychologist for Harford County Public Schools.

Eileen Barnes is the Assistant to John Mather and Project Support Specialist for the James Webb Space Telescope Project at at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

Cori Brooks earned a MS in Criminal Justice, Criminology from the University of Baltimore in 2009.

Gwen Calhoon earned a PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Maryland Baltimore in 2013. She is a Postdoctoral Associate at MIT - Picower Institute for Learning and Memory.

Stephanie Gardiner earned a MA in Industrial Psychology from Hofstra University in 2008. She is a Talent Management Analyst for Arrow Electronics, Inc.

Diana Gayle completed studies in Mental Health Therapy at Capella University in 2012. She is currently a Case Manager/Social Worker for Inner City Family Services in Washington, D.C., and a Resident Advisor for the SEED School of Washington, D.C.

Jonathan Hege is a Senior Data Architect at Pew Research Center.

Gregory Horvitz earned a MLS from the University of Maryland in 2008 and is currently an Information Research Specialist for Northrop Grumman.

Laurie (Kloster) Filer earned an MA in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University in 2008. She is currently working as a Human Resources Specialist for NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

Simon Lutterbie earned a PhD at University of Oxford in 2010. He is now the Director of IT Strategy & Development at iOpener Institute for People and Performance

Erica (Mundle) Pickett earned a MS in Curriculum and Instruction and Administration at McDaniel College in 2011. She is currently 4th Grade Classroom Teacher at Norrisville Elementary School in Pennsylvania.

Katelyn (Opel) Alcamo earned a MS in Marital Therapy at UMCP. She is a Couple and Family Therapist at Laurel Fay & Associates in Silver Spring, MD. She also serves as a School Based Therapist for the Guide Program.

Katie (Ryan) Albritton earned a MEd in Early Childhood Special Education from UMCP in 2009. She is currently a LD Special Ed. Teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools.

Ashley Scarr is pursuing a MS in Occupational Therapy at the University of New England. She is completing an internship at Internship at George Washington University Hospital.

Leo Schlosnagle earned a PhD in lifespan developmental psychology from West Virginia University in 2011.  Most of his research focuses on how adults of different ages make monetary investment decisions.  His area of inquiry shares a lot in common with behavioral economics, and his research employs correlational and experimental methods. Leo feels that the undergraduates at SMCM who plan to pursue graduate degrees might be especially interested in some of WVU's programs, and suggests such students visit the WVU web site at http://psychology.wvu.edu/. Currently, Leo is the Research & Resource Development Manager at the Center for Excellence in Disabilities at WVU.

Alexis Seneff earned a MSHS in Physician Assistant Studies from The George Washington University in 2010. She is currently Physician Assistant in the Medical ICU at John Hopkins Hospital.

Holly Stone earned a MEd (Special Education: Severe Disabilities) from Vanderbilt University in 2010.

Alison Travers completed graduate studies at John's Hopkins University in 2009 and is currently a biologist at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Alison Ulino earned a DPT at UMB.

Ashley (Wirtz) Everhart earned a studies in Curriculum and Instruction and Administration at McDaniel College in 2012. She is currently 2nd Grade Classroom Teacher for Caroll County Public Schools.

Ramtin Arabloui is the Program Manager for Health and Environmental Funders Network in Bethesda, MD.

Erin Bryant pursued graduate studies at the University of Maryland, College Park. She is currently a Science Writer/Editor for National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Christine Cramer earned a MS in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University in 2009. She is now working towards her PhD in Marriage, Family, and Human Development at BYU (Brigham Young University).

Kate (Dansie) Bowman earned a MSW at the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2007. She is currently a Psychotherapist at Columbia Counseling Center.

Katie Eck earned a MS in School Counseling from Johns Hopkins University in 2008 and is currently a School Counselor for Washington County Public Schools.

Emily Flanagan served in the Peace Corps in Brahmanbaria, Dhaka, Bangladesh, for the year following graduation and then for Americorps Boston Cares & Hands On Network the year after that. She earned a MS in International Relations from Harvard University in 2010 and currently works as an employment specialist for Partnership Development Group Rehabilitation Services in Baltimore, MD.

Doria Fleisher is the Associate Director of the Melwood Recreation Center in Nanjemoy, MD.

Eleanor Fletcher earned a MS in Occupational Therapy from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 2009 and is now an Occupational Therapist for Children's Therapy Associates.

Kerry (Graham) Hudgins earned a ThM at the University of Nottingham in 2007. She currently works for Baltimore City Public Schools.

Carrie Grisham earned a PsyD in Psychology from George Washinton University in 2014. 

Makeyda Hilliard earned a MS in School Counseling at Trinity Washington University in 2012. She is Professional School Counselor for Montgomery County Public Schools.

Angy Kallarkal earned a PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Maryland at Baltimore in 2012. She is now a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Univeristy of Utah.

Jessica Leonard earned a MS in Sport Psychology- Exercise and Sports Sciences from Ithaca College in 2009. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Counseling Psychology from West Virginia University.

Hope Lobkowicz volunteered at the Marine Mammal Center's rescue and release program on the central coast of California after graduation.  She earned a MA in Public Policy, with a concentration in Environmental Policy, from The George Washington University in 2008. She is currently a Government Affairs Senior Associate with Pew Environment Group, a non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C. And she also works for the U.S. Green Building Council.

Michael Mitchell works at Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania.

Lisa McQuighan earned a MA in Psychology from American University in 2007. She has worked as a research associate for Arbitron in Columbia, MD and is now Product Analyst at Nielsen Audio.

Pamela Naab earned a MS in Psychology at Boston College in 2007 and her PhD in Counseling Psychology at Boston College in 2012. She is now pursuing post grad work at Northeatern University.

Liz O'Sullivan earned a MS in Psychology from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi in 2008. She is currently the Head of Drama and a AAP faculty member at American University of Iraq, Sulaimani. 

Abigail Rotholz earned a MA Counseling and Guidance with a minor in Native American Studies at New Mexico State University in 2013.

Christina Salama is pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Georgia and hopes to complete her studies in 2014.

Christina (Rowe) Schultheis works for the Health Surveys Branch (DSD) of the US Census Bureau as a Survey Statistician who works on quality assurance activities for the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS). She is currently pursuing an MPH in Community Health Education from the University of Maryland College Park.

Jessica (Searle) Fonzi  is pursuing graduate studies at the Columbia University School of Social Work. She is currently a Clinical Social Work Intern at Safe Horizon.

Sarah Sloane pursued graduate studies in Clinical Counseling at Johns Hopkins University. She is currently a Hot Yoga instructor.

Jason Straub earned a MSW from UMB. He is currently an Outpatient Therapist working with children as part of the Community Psychiatry Program at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

Sasha Stout is a research associate for KAI Research in Washington, D.C.

Class of 2004

Kyle Bishop received an MS in Clinical Community Counseling from Johns Hopkins University in 2007. She has worked at various community agencies including a drug/alcohol rehabilitation center and a children's center specializing in the emotional needs of children. Kyle is the Director of Counseling at SMCM and earned a PhD in counseling psychology from Argosy University in 2013.

Joshua Chiapelli earned a MD from Drexel University College of Medicine in 2008. He is now a psychiatry resident at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Jordan Knicely completed his MS in Psychology at Lehigh University in 2010. He is now a Research Analyst at the University of Scranton.

Benaiah Lee earned a MAT in Elementary Education from Johns Hopkins in May 2010 and currently teaches 3rd grade in Baltimore City. She entered the teaching field after a 2 year stint in the business world because she wanted to find a way to put her degree to work helping people.

Class of 2003

Brian Jobe remained at SMC to work as a research associate collaborating with Dr. Laraine Glidden's in Project Parenting for two years following graduation. While pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology at UMBC, he worked at the Domestic Violence Center of Howard County as a clinical staff member of the New Behaviors Program for Men. He supervises the intake assessment and referral process, maintains regular contact with the court and probation departments, conducts group and individual therapy with clients, and manages the day-to-day operations of the program. Also, as part of his job he gets to oversee graduate students at one of their first clinical placements. He completed his studies there in 2012 and is now an Intern at Kennedy Krieger Institute.

Julia G. Kurish earned a MA in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY, in 2006.

Emily Lawrence earned a MS in Recreation & Leisure Studies at UNC Chapel Hill in 2006. She is a Certified Recreation Therapist and works for the National Institutes of Health.

Angela (Trinidad) Draheim has been the Departmental Assistant in Psychology at SMCM since 2004.

Ibrahim Gba-Kamara is currently serving as an Aviation Administrator for the US Navy and earned a BA degree in Paralegal Studies from Roger Williams University in 2011. He has also studied Healthcare Administration at University of Maryland University College.

Wendy (Povistsky) Stickle earned a MA & PhD in Criminology and Criminal Justice from UMCP in 2005 & 2009 respectively. She is currently a Research Analyst for Westat.

Jennifer Horn earned a MSW from Temple University in 2007 and an MBA in Management & Planning from the University of Phoenix in 2009. She is currently a Legal Liaison for Dauphin County Social Services for Children and Youth in PA.

Julie Bederka Hamilton earned a MEd in School Counseling from Loyola College of MD in 2005. She is the Director of Business Development for CBH Health, LLC.

Nicole Little earned a DVM from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. She works as a veterinarian for Veterinary Specialists of South Florida.

Kelly O'Brien completed a predoctoral internship at UNC-Chapel Hill (September 2006-September 2007) and then earned a PhD in Clinical Psychology (child track) from the University of Florida in May 2008. She is has been a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland in the Department of Psychology since May 2008. 

Derek Young has been the Assistant Director of Residence Life at SMCM since 2007.

Robert Friesel is a Graphical User Interface Developer for a web developer in Vermont. He is married to psyc alumna Amy Chess '00.

Jennifer (Menard) Marsh has been the Animal Caretaker and Departmental Technician at SMCM since 2001. She is pursuing a MS in I/O Psychology.

Class of 2000

Amy Chess earned a MA in Experimental Psychology from the University of Vermont in 2004 and her PhD in Psychology (Behavioral Neuroscience) from Dartmouth College 2007. She completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Psychology at the University of Vermont from 2006-2010 and is currently the Program Director of Psychology at Champlain College where she provides program leadership, curriculum development, and advising for the Psychology Program, in addition to teaching Psychology courses. She is married to psyc alum Robert Friesel '01.

David Ryden earned a JD from University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law in 2003 and is currently an Assistant State's Attorney for Harford County.
