Thanks for visiting our web page!
Psychology is broadly defined as the study of human behavior and mental processes. Because of this you will find Psychology faculty and students involved in many different types of research including mental health, development and developmental disabilities, media influences on behavior, problem-solving and categorization, animal models of brain disease, perceptual processes and consciousness.
The Psychology Department at St. Mary's College of Maryland aims to enhance students' understanding of human behavior and mental processes and their connections to other disciplines. The psychology major emphasizes skills in communication, information literacy, statistics, and research design in an experiential-based curriculum that includes laboratory courses and a rigorous senior capstone experience.
