Research Participant Pool Information for Researchers

Students conducting research in psychology at SMCM who require a human population most often recruit participants from the General Pool, a convenience sample of college students, primarily consisting of those students taking psychology courses that offering extra credit for research participation. Occasionally, SMP or upper-division lab students may recuit from the PSYC101 pool that is used by faculty. If you want to have access to the research participant pools, your IRB approved study must be recorded in the log that the Research Participant Pool Adminstator, Angie Draheim, keeps - each study will have its own number that must be assigned. To place your study on the SMCM Research Participant Pool Website (where students sign-up to participate in studies), please follow the instructions below according to the type of study you will be running.
