Walking Tour
Enjoy a self-guided tour of St. Mary’s College and learn about its unique history as well as its newest additions. Download a printable walking tour booklet with map (PDF) to read as you walk OR download an audio walking tour (MP3) with a map (PDF) and hear the history as told by local singer/songwriter David Norris. Audio walking tour recorded and edited by Daryl Williams, Spring Ridge Production Studios, 2010.
David Norris was born and raised in St. Mary’s County. “I literally grew up in the middle of four cornfields on my grandmother’s farm in the colonial village of Chaptico, Maryland. I’ve been writing songs ever since I found out you were allowed to, and grew up singing with my twin brother Joseph (we still sing together occasionally).” David Norris can be heard these days singing traditional Irish music at D. B. McMillan’s Pub & Grill in California, Md., on Thursday and Friday nights.
