The College cashier accepts all payments for tuition and fees, housing deposits, phone bills, parking fines, etc.  The College does not accept credit card payment for tuition and fees.  Credit card tuition and fee payment can be made by contacting Tuition Management Systems (TMS) at 1-888-437-3430 or at www.afford.com/smcm.  A convenience fee is charged for this service.  You do not need to be enrolled in the TMS Payment Plan to use the credit card payment feature. 

With the exception of the July statement which will be mailed to the student's permanent address on August 1st, paper copies of statements will no longer be mailed.  Students have access to their account via SMARTNet at any time. A monthly e-mail will be sent to all students reminding them to check their account.  Balances are due by the 15th of each month, and outstanding balances are charged a 1% late fee.  If a student does not have access to a computer or prefers to have a paper copy of their statement of account mailed to them, they will need to fill out and return to the Business Office a "Mailed Statement Request Form.”  This form is available in the Business Office.

Any questions about your student’s account or billing statement can be referred to the Business Office by calling 240-895-4315.  Other services provided by the Business Office include the following:

  • Replacing student ID cards
  • Issuing student motor vehicle parking permits
  • Processing refunds
  • Distributing contractual payroll checks
  • Processing meal plan changes (during the first two weeks of a semester)

CAMPUS STORE

The Campus Store sells books, school and art supplies, greeting cards, computer software and supplies, electronics, CDs and DVDs, clothing, and specialty goods.  The Campus Store operates the Daily Grind Café and the convenience store, which offers toiletries and grocery items. 

The Campus Store offers course books at the lowest price possible and stocks all required and supplemental reading materials requested by the faculty.  Textbook prices are established by the publishers and are subject to change without notice.  All texts are returned to the publisher approximately one month after the beginning of the semester unless the faculty member requests that they be held for the following semester.  The average student spends approximately $400 - $500 on textbooks each semester.
