Important Dates for Students: Fall 2008
(Bolded dates are specific to Residence Life)
- August 28: Residence halls open for new students.
- August 28-September 1: Orientation for all new students
- August 31 - September 1: Residence Halls open for returning students 10:00 a.m.
- September 1: Labor Day Holiday: NO CLASSES
- September 2: CLASSES BEGIN
- September 2-12: Schedule-adjustment period and late registration
- September 12: Last day to declare or retract an Audit grading option
- September 12: Last day to submit meal plan changes for the fall semester to the Business Office
- September 15-26: Add a course with a fee until September 19. You may withdraw with a grade of with a $25 fee until the end of the 10th academic week (Oct. 31).
- September 26: LAST DAY for students to submit course work to faculty to remove an Incomplete and to change grading option to Credit/No-credit
- October 2: LAST DAY to withdraw, without a grade penalty, from a half-semester course
- October 10: LAST DAY for instructors to remove an Incomplete
- October 13-14: Fall Reading Days. NO CLASSES
- October 20: Mid-semester report deadline
- October 20-24: Half-semester courses begin
- October 22: Spring RA Interest Session
- October 24:LAST DAY to register for a half-semester course beginning at mid-semester
- November 1: LAST DAY to submit housing contract release request for spring semester with no financial penalty
- November 2-Dec. 1: Housing Contract release request submitted and approved are assessed 10% of the semester cost for housing
- November 3-7: Academic advising for all degree students currently enrolled
- November 4: NO CLASSES. All day advising
- November 5-14: Registration for degree students
- November 7: LAST DAY to withdraw, without a grade penalty, from a full-semester course
- November 14: Spring RA Applications due
- November 17-21: Spring RA Interviews
- November 19: Request to stay for Thanksgiving Break due by 5:00p.m.
- November 20: Last day to submit proposals for new LLC programs to the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs
- November 20: LAST DAY to withdraw, without a grade penalty, from a half-semester course which began at mid-semester
- November 21: St. Mary's Projects due to mentor
- November 25: Residence halls close at 10 p.m. for Thanksgiving Break. Health Safety Inspections Occur
- November 30: Residence Halls re-open at 2:00 p.m.
- December 1: Housing Contract release request submitted and approved are assessed 20% of the semester cost for housing
- December 3: 2009-2010 RA Interest Session
- December 1-18: Winter Break closing meetings
- December 10: Request to stay for Winter Break due by 5:00 p.m.
- December 10: 2009-2010 RA Interest Session
- December 12: Last day of regularly scheduled classes. St. Mary's Projects due in the registrar's office
- December: 14-19: 23-hr quiet hours in and around the residences
- December 15-18: Final Class meetings/exams
- December 19: Residence Halls close for Winter Break at 12 p.m. Health Safety Inspections occur
- December 20: Last day for existing LLCs to submit semester evaluation indicate their desire to continue for 2009/2010 to the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs
- December 22:Grades due by noon
