The Environmental Protection Committee shall function to review policies and actions of the administration, the SGA, and the student body, including all student-run environment organizations, with regards to the maintaining the environmental integrity of St. Mary’s College and its surrounding community. The Committee shall also be a forum for new ideas between the student body, the SGA, and the administration to preserve, protect, and improve the general ecosystem of the campus and the outlying community, including the St. Mary’s River.

Composition: 

The Sustainability Committee shall be chaired by a Senator through Presidential appointment, subject to Senate approval by a simple majority vote, and composed of: at least two (2) Senators in addition to the chair with at least one (1) Senator from the residential halls and one (1) Senator from the North Campus, four (4) SMCM students should additionally be appointed to the committee, at least one of whom should be active in the college’s environmental organizations and no more and no less than one student must be an intern or fellow with the Office of Sustainability.
