Dear Colleague:
We invite you to attend the 2006 CNEHA Conference in Tarrytown, New York. The conference runs from Friday, October 20, 2006, to Sunday, October 22, 2006. Tarrytown, nestled in the heart of the Hudson River Valley, offers a variety of cultural and historic experiences. Once part of Phillipsburg, a former Dutch patroonship turned English manor, it was here that Major Andre was captured and the infamous legend of Sleepy Hollow was born. This meeting will also mark the Council's 40th Anniversary. We will be recognizing the contribution of the historical archaeologists that were instrumental in the establishment of the Council and who have played a vital role in the development of the field.
The conference hotel is the Westchester Marriott located at 670 White Plains Road, Tarrytown, New York. The special conference rate is $ 129.00 US per night for a single/double, tax not included, or $149.00 for a triple or more. Please make your reservations directly with the hotel by calling either 1-800-882-1042. To ensure the special rates, reservations must be made before 7 October 2006. You must mention CNEHA to receive the conference rate and for CNEHA to receive credit for your attendance at the conference. The Westchester Marriott is located near I-87 and the Tappen Zee Bridge and provides free parking for all guests. A business center is available. There is an indoor pool, full service health club, sauna, and whirlpool.
