FLOW Mentoring at St. Mary’s County Public Schools
The mission of the Future Leaders of the World (FLOW) Mentoring Program is to foster positive
mentoring relationships between students in St. Mary’s County Public Schools and members of the

How to Become a Mentor
Lexington Park United Methodist Church
JOY Dinner
Our JOY (Jesus, Others, & You) Dinner serves a hundred a more hungry men, women, and children every Wednesday night from 6-7PM. Volunteers are needed to help prepare food on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons as well as cook, serve, and clean-up on Wednesday evenings. For more information call the church office and ask for Pastor Doug at 301- 863-8500.
Community Clothes Closet
This ministry gives out free clothes to needy men, women, and children generally on Wednesday and Fridays. Workers are needed to sort, fold, and hang clothes throughout the week. Once trained, volunteers can work when it is convenient for them. For more information call the church office at 301 863-8500 and ask for Cynthia.
Monthly Blood Drive
The blood drive held at Lexington Park United Methodist Church on the third Thursday of every month is the largest in St. Mary’s County. Volunteers help with intake and serve refreshments to those who have given blood. For more information call the church office at 301 863-8500 and ask for Pastor Doug.
Interior and Exterior Clean-up
Because the LPUMC facilities are used by the community members (AA, Scouts, Blood Drive, Clothes Closet, JOY Dinner) every day of the week as well as by an active church membership there is a continual need for interior and exterior clean-up and basic maintenance. Volunteers will be gratefully put to work caring for our landscaping and grounds as well for general clean-up tasks such as cleaning chairs, replacing light bulbs, and mopping floors. This work can be done by individuals on a schedule tailored to their needs or can be done by large groups working together at an agreed upon time. For more information call the church office at 301 863-8500 and ask for Pastor Doug.
