Summer Programs

Summer programs on the College campus provide a variety of ways to enjoy the summer.

Chesapeake Writers' Conference:

The Chesapeake Writers’ Conference at St. Mary’s College of Maryland is now accepting applications for this summer's event, June 23-29, 2013. Join a community of writers on Maryland’s beautiful Western Shore for a week of workshops, lectures, panel discussions, and readings, as well as daily workshops in fiction, poetry, or creative nonfiction led by exemplary faculty. And explore southern Maryland’s beaches, bays, wineries and restaurants of the region in your free time.

Choral Arts Academy:

St. Mary's College of Marylalnd will offer a residential choral arts academy for rising ninth graders through high school graduates in the summer of 2013.

River Concert Series:

Enjoy free riverside concerts on Friday evenings, June 22 - July 27, 2012. The Chesapeake Orchestra, directed by St. Mary's College of Maryland's professor of music and world-renowned conductor and trumpeter, Jeffrey Silberschlag, performs with acclaimed artists and celebrated personalities of regional and national note. Food and drink available for a fee from on-site vendors.

New Leadership for the Chesapeake

Sponsored by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and The Center for the Study of Democracy: Join a community of environmental activists on Maryland's beautiful Western Shore for an intensive summer experience at St. Mary's College of Maryland, June 16 - 21, 2013. Students can also earn college credit for the course through enrolling for two additional weeks of indepth academic training on the environment. This training conference is for students to learn the ins and outs of environmental leadership by gaining greater knowledge of issues influencing the health of the Chesapeake Bay and through advanced training on how to advocate for the Chesapeake region.
