Trips & Rec

Smith Island Cultural Center

During your stay at St. Mary’s you will have the opportunity to accompany your peers to the Smith Island Cultural Center. Here you can enjoy the beautiful scenery, learn something new at the museum, or try their famous Smith Island Cakes. Those involved who choose to attend will take a relaxing, air-conditioned ferry tour across the Chesapeake Bay to reach the secluded island. Once on the island, you will have the opportunity to go antiquing, try some freshly grown figs, or tour the islands trails.  For more details on the attractions contained within the Smith Island Cultural Center, click on the link below:

The River Concert Series. Friday Evening at 8pm

The River Concert Series, whose repertoire ranges from serious classical composition, to light classics, to jazz, is a long standing and wildly popular event in southern Maryland event that we are lucky to be around for on Friday night. It actually happens on the green in front of the townhouses we’ll be staying in.
