References for Writers

So it's three a.m. and you find yourself with a sudden, burning question
about dangling modifiers. Well, maybe not, but certainly there are times
when information is needed and the luxury of visiting the Writing Center
in person is not an option. We've designed each of the four parts of the
References for Writers section to assist you with the different stages
of the writing process. "Getting Started" provides tips on interpreting
assignments, developing a focus and generating support for a thesis. "Organization"
is a great place to visit for guidance on early revision and structure.
"Grammar/Style" offers downloadable handouts on sentence-level
concerns, including tricky grammatical issues. And last but NOT least,
"Revision/Citation" offers assistance in the final stages of
writing-revision, editing and proofreading. We hope this resource will prove useful with your writing needs. Remember,
if this reference does not answer all of your questions, or if you would
simply like to talk about your writing, you can always drop by the Writing
Center or schedule an appointment.
