Practicum in Teaching At-Risk Students

This practicum focuses on the historically underserved students in today’s public school classrooms. Interns will consider numerous factors that may impact a student’s education. They will also consider the research on effective strategies and programs to provide support for the students in and out of the formal school setting. Interns will then design and implement instruction in a day practicum focused on supporting students from local schools to prevent the summer learning slide. Credit/no credit grading. Prerequisite: admission to the MAT program.

Prerequisite: admission to the MAT program.
