How does having a mentor or securing an internship benefit a college student?
Mentorships and internships bridge the gap between school learning and workplace experience, preparing individuals for their future career years prior to their college graduation date. As a college student, having a mentor or the opportunity to participate in an internship in a field of interest can be the first stepping-stone to a bright career ahead.
What is the role of the mentor?
A mentor is someone who encourages students to strive in their particular field of study and serves as a role model providing advice garnered from their own professional journeys.
What is an internship?
An internship can be an opportunity that allows a student to try something new related to their career interests, the first experience that could lead to a new job.
