The CDA is charged with seeking public comment in its review of master plan and design proposals for major capital improvement and landscape projects on the St. Mary&#8217;s College campus and the grounds of HSMC. Membership of the CDA includes representatives from established community organizations, the college, and the city.<\/p>\n<p>The CDA is charged to seek public comment in its review of master plan and design proposals for major capital improvement and landscape projects on the St. Mary\u2019s College campus and the grounds of Historic St. Mary\u2019s City. Upon completion of their review, the CDA will provide comments for the adoption, modification, or rejection of proposals to the College Board of Trustees Committee on Buildings and Grounds and\/or the HSMC Commission Executive Board. The final review and approval of proposals remains the purview of the College Board of Trustees and the Historic St. Mary\u2019s City Commission, as appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>In its review and formulation of comments, the CDA will focus on the following issues:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Quality of design<\/li>\n<li>Visual Impact<\/li>\n<li>Stewardship of significant historical resources<\/li>\n<li>Stewardship of environmental resources<\/li>\n<li>Sensitivity to community interests<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Membership<\/h4>\n<p>Membership of the Capital Design Advisory will include representatives from established community organizations, the college, and the city.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dan Branigan, SMCM co-chair<\/li>\n<li>Regina Faden, HSMC co-chair<\/li>\n<li>Julia King, faculty representative (appointed by faculty senate)<\/li>\n<li>Mac McClintock, college staff representative<\/li>\n<li>TBD, college student representative<\/li>\n<li>James Hardin, Trinity Parish representative<\/li>\n<li>Bob Lewis, St. Mary\u2019s River Watershed Association representative<\/li>\n<li>Ingrid Swann, St. Mary\u2019s County Arts Council representative<\/li>\n<li>Raymond Dodson, St. Mary\u2019s Chamber of Commerce representative<\/li>\n<li>Pete Himmelheber, St. Mary\u2019s County Historical Society representative<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The CDA was created by SMCM and HSMC to provide an interface for community input to their capital development planning.
