Following lifted restrictions from Governor Hogan and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the campus community is permitted to enjoy outdoor spaces on campus without wearing a face covering. St. Mary’s College will continue to require face coverings to be worn outside while in large groups where social distancing is not possible and indoors until further notice. The College reserves the right to implement greater restrictions if deemed necessary.
St. Mary’s College of Maryland reopened campus for the 2020-21 academic year for on-campus learning and living. The College has implemented extensive, expert-informed measures to help safeguard health and uphold the high value of an honors college education. Not everything looks the same. But together, our vibrant community will do what we’ve always done: embody, embrace and commit to living the St. Mary’s Way with respect for self, respect for others, and respect for the environment in which we each live.
Instruction is designed to meet the needs of students who choose to live on-campus, students who choose to learn remotely, and commuters. This mode of teaching and learning provides a high level of safety for our campus community and affords flexibility with respect to campus operations should the public health situation drastically change.
As a condition of returning to campus, students and employees must complete the mandatory COVID-19 Hygiene Best Practices training.
St. Mary’s College of Maryland is committed to the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff. The College will continue to update the COVID-19 Policies as it develops additional guidelines and protocols.
