Administrative Assistant for Accreditation (part-time, temporary)
St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for the position of Administrative Assistant for Accreditation in the Office of Institutional Research. This position provides administrative and technical support for the Co-Chairs, Steering Committee, and Work Groups of the Middle States Accreditation Self-Study. The person in this position is responsible for scheduling, record keeping, tracking of project management, document collection and organization. May handle confidential and sensitive material. Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, and ability to work independently with general supervision. Some remote work is possible for this two-year, part-time contractual position.
Qualifications: Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalency, but with a preference for some college coursework and/or degree (Associate’s or Bachelor’s). At least one year of experience working in an office environment is required, with preference for experience managing or assisting with large projects or initiatives. Strong preference for experience working in a higher education setting. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential; editing experience is desirable. Must have good organizational skills and excellent attention to detail, and possess thorough working knowledge of modern office practices/procedures and various computer software packages (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet applications, database management, graphical and presentation software, social media platforms, Google environment). Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and proof of COVID-19 vaccination, medical and religious exemptions will be considered.
