St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for several contingent positions of Assistant Archaeologist. The Assistant Archaeologist will assist with fieldwork and laboratory processing for various departmental projects. The successful candidate must have some fieldwork experience and be able to work in outdoor and variable weather conditions in both wooded and open environments. The project begins on or about September 15, 2017 and ends on or about November 15, 2017. These are contingent positions that could be eligible for medical benefit subsidy.
Qualifications: B.A. degree in history, anthropology, or related field and minimum two seasons’ archaeology field and laboratory experience; may substitute field experience for up to one year of college work. The successful applicant should have excellent organizational skills and a valid driver’s license. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
