Associate Director of Teacher Education
St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for the twelve-month exempt position of Associate Director of Teacher Education (ADTE). This position reports to the Director of Teacher Education and has primary responsibility for the MAT internship program/experience, but also is involved in MAT recruitment, admissions, certification, reporting, and accreditation. The ADTE works closely with the local public school systems to support MAT internship experiences, and is a key liaison to mentor teachers, supervisors, and school administrators.
Qualifications include: Master's degree required, doctorate preferred in either education or other appropriate field; school-based teaching experience and, preferably, school-based administrative experience and knowledge of professional development schools, as well as knowledge of the local school system; ability to organize and analyze data using appropriate tools; ability to use technology to coordinate work with others; and familiarity with edTPA or National Board Certification strongly preferred. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and proof of COVID-19 vaccination, medical and religious exemptions will be considered.
