Director of Transfer Recruitment, Admission, and Services
St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for the position of Director of Transfer Recruitment, Admission, and Services. Responsibilities include recruiting and enrolling students who meet the college’s enrollment goals and ensuring that all related policies, practices, and services meet their needs. The Director will develop, implement, and oversee a recruitment plan that will meet the college’s transfer enrollment goals. They will initiate, develop, implement, and manage institutional transfer articulation agreements and collaborate with academic affairs on the development and management of academic department articulation agreements. Overseeing the transfer credit evaluation process, the Director will ensure that the College’s transfer credit policies align with all state, federal and institutional guidelines and that technology is strategically utilized to complete and communicate transfer credit evaluations to prospective students. They will need to be a creative thinker and highly energized to apply their intellectual curiosity, competitive spirit, strong character, and desire to positively contribute to office welfare as they bring innovation and excellence to this role. Requires overnight travel and some weekend work.
Qualifications include, but are not limited to: Bachelor’s degree, Master’s desirable. Five years’ experience in admissions counseling or equivalent experience. A valid driver’s license and eligible to drive leased automobiles. Must be willing to work nights and weekends as required. A working knowledge of various computer software packages (word processing, spreadsheet applications, and database management). Ability to lift at least 25 pounds. Strong oral and written skills are essential. Ability to articulate the mission of St. Mary’s College as a public honors college to external audiences. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered.
